Richard KitsonSWHI Chair Until his recent retirement, Richard was CEO of Aster Group, one of the leading south west based housing association groups with assets exceeding £570m, an annual turnover of £80m and employing over 900 people. It was recognised as a Beacon Company by the South West Regional Development Agency and achieved "first class" in the Best Companies Awards 2009. Richard was awarded an OBE in the New Years Honours 2010. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, was its President in 2001/02, and was a nationally elected member of the Council for nine years. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. In addition to his SWHI role, Richard has a range of engagements including coaching and mentoring at owner, chief executive and director level, providing leadership and management strategic advice, assisting a multi-disciplinary housing consultancy, and chairing Wiltshire Rural Housing Association - a growing not for profit provider of affordable homes.
