10:00-11:45	Opening session, chaired by SWHI Chairman (Richard Kitson), providing a brief regional overview and introducing guest speakers, addressing the theme of: “A vision for solving the South West’s housing needs to sustain the region’s economy - and everyone’s role”: Stuart Whitfield, SW Regional Chair - CBI - positioning the importance of adequate housing to support the SW regional economy; Rt Hon Jim Knight, SW Regional Minister - current Labour Government proposals to revitalise and support the economy through housing and planning initiatives; Mathew Taylor, MP - rural housing initiatives to support the rural economy, so important to the SW Region; John Howell, MP, Opposition front bench planning and local government team - proposals for future planning for housing to deliver adequate supply; Barbara Janke, Leader of Bristol City Council, Chair of the Housing and Regeneration Board and Member of South West Councils/ Strategic Leaders Board - local authority initiatives to sustain housing supply; Robert Napier, HCA Chair and Colin Molton HCA SW Regional Director - One year on – the HCA in the SW;
